The original company (BTC Contract Services, Inc.) was founded in 1992 by Oscar Nathan Harris II and Tracey Scott Trivette.
The company operated for 9 years as a local maintenance company, providing various services to residential, commercial, and local government clients. BTC was owner/operated and the two partners worked together daily, performing grounds, custodial and other maintenance services in the local community.
The owners, while maintaining their primary responsibilities as a part-time college student and police detective, managed to incorporate other services into their business:
- Pressure Washing
- Restaurant exhaust system cleaning
- Painting ( Residential, Commercial and Apt. Complex)
- Tree removal
- Minor construction and repair
- Pier and bulkhead (seawall) construction
- Hurricane cleanup
During this time, the 2 man operation slowly expanded beyond its local boundaries to include other regions in the state. By 1997, BTC was providing building maintenance services for government agencies throughout North Carolina.
This expansion proved to be a milestone for the company as it was slowly evolving into a state-wide service provider. Over the next 3 years, the owners continued working locally while successfully managing numerous state contracts, operated as independent cost centers, and located in different geographical locations.
2000 proved to be the next milestone year for BTC when the company was awarded its first large scale, multi-million dollar maintenance contract with the Dept. of Treasury / Dept. of homeland Security.
Excited and confident, the owners immediately began phase in operations in the state of Georgia at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and quickly built a solid reputation, slowly making their mark in the federal marketplace as a serious competitor.
Emerging as a national contractor, BTC gradually phased out local operations and the partners resigned from their full time work duties in order to devote complete attention to the growing business. Over the next few years, BTC was awarded numerous, multi- million dollar maintenance contracts at various facilities throughout the country.
Our growth as a company is attributed to an unwavering commitment to provide quality customer service, consistently demonstrating a strong work ethic and always maintaining a determination to succeed.
On March 1st, 2003, Nathan Harris and his wife, Lisa; along with their two children and a family friend were tragically killed in an airplane accident near Mt. Airy, N.C.
Operations continued with Nathans sister; whom became the new partner in the company.
Living in different parts of the state, the two mutually decided to part in 2007. Each decided to form new companies, divide and novate their existing contracts and to begin the corporate dissolution BTC Contract Services, Inc.
To facilitate this decision The Ashley Marie Group, Inc. was formed, which is named in honor of his twin daughters, Lauren Ashley and Jordan Marie Trivette.
